Who runs Aatman

Aatman is run for NIT Patna students with the institute's counselling cell. Questions or requests: contact the counselling cell (the grievance officer named on the institute website).

What we collect

Your check-in answers and the scores calculated from them, the time of each check-in, any bookings you make, and contact details only if you choose to share them with a counsellor. We do not store your email, name or roll number. Your email is turned into a one-way code (a pseudonym) at sign-in.

What we don't keep

Anything you type in the check-in's free-text box or the reflective chat is checked for safety and then discarded. It is never saved.

Who can see it

Only you can see your results. A counsellor sees them only when you send a contact request or book a session with sharing turned on. Faculty, wardens and administrators cannot see individual results. The institute sees only totals for groups of 10 or more students.

AI processing

Short notes and the reflective chat may be processed by an AI provider under a zero-data-retention agreement. The AI receives scores, or chat text with names and numbers removed, and never your identity.

How long we keep it

Check-ins are deleted automatically after 12 months unless you choose to keep them. You can download or erase everything at any time in Settings.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can access, correct and erase your data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Withdrawing consent is the same as erasing your data in Settings.

Not an emergency service

No one monitors Aatman in real time. If you are in danger, call Tele-MANAS 14416 or 112.
